Yoga got me moving and helped to control my mind through the practice of meditation and breathing. Overall, it is an excellent way to engage your body and mind to promote mental and physical well-being.

Yoga is the practice of a series of movements and poses while focusing on breathing exercises; joining the mind, body, breath, and spirit - what more could a cancer patient ask for than a low-impact activity that is meditative?

The benefits are far-reaching: research shows that yoga can positively impact high blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, metabolism, and body temperature. It has been shown to improve strength, bone health, and decrease pain. It's an effective tool for lowering your stress response and enhancing your overall well-being - key to combat the anxiety and depression that results from dealing with cancer.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to my good friend Kelly, founder of Sowing Seeds Yoga for Cancer.

Kelly is committed to building a community of hope; cultivating compassion and offering tools, education, and insight for those on their cancer journey and for their loved ones who may feel helpless at times.

Sowing Seed’s mission is to encourage safe movement, nourishing breath, tips on health and wellness, and shine a light on what your biggest purpose may be. Our mission is to uplift, collaborate, and collectively rise above doubt and fear regardless of your age, gender, mobility, or circumstance.
