Familiar, welcoming, comfortable; this is our place of belonging, our sanctuary. This hibiscus plant is just below our second home in Maui. As I peak over the lanai railing I see the beautiful flowers, a soft pink hue with a deep burgundy centre. I can’t help but reach out and stroke their petals each time I walk by. They connect my mind and heart to our haven here on this heavenly island.
